Educação e atividades profissionais
A Profa. Dra. Luciene Cristina de Figueiredo é especialista, Mestre e Doutora em Periodontia pela Faculdade de Odontologia de Araraquara - Universidade Estadual de São Paulo. Atualmente é pró-reitora de pós-graduação e pesquisa da UNG Universidade (2015).
É membro da Academia Internacional de Periodontia (IAP) e do grupo de pesquisa periodontal do IADR e revisora de vários periódicos internacionais, tais como Brazilian Oral Research, Clinical Oral Implants Research e International Dental Journal.
Interesses de pesquisa
Sua principal linha de pesquisa é a etiologia e tratamento de infecções periodontais, com ênfase em ensaios clínicos randomizados e aleatorizados avaliando os efeitos clínicos e microbiológicos de diferentes tratamentos na periodontite. Outras áreas de pesquisa incluem: halitose, peri-implantite, influência do controle do biofilme supragengival e modelos de biofilme in vitro e ex vivo.
Outros destaques
A Profa. Dra Luciene Cristina de Figueiredo recebeu várias Bolsas de Pesquisa da Fundação de Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP). O Conselho Nacional Brasileiro de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) concedeu-lhe uma bolsa de produtividade na pesquisa desde 2007, reconhecendo suas atividades de pesquisa. Em 2014 uma de suas publicações (Perez-Chaparro et al. 2014) foi selecionada para o F1000Prime, e foi recomendada como sendo de especial significância na área periodontal pelo Dr. Robert Palmer, renomado pesquisador no NIDCR (MD, EUA).
