Objectives
The main objective of the program is to train researchers who will conduct scientific investigations. Unlike the MSc program, which focuses on the training of a teacher/professional, the PhD program focuses on developing a mature professional who is able to appreciate and apply a wider view of science in the modern world. The philosophy of the professors involved in this program, and structure of most of the curriculum, are directed towards providing students with a solid foundation in the methods of clinical and laboratory studies for the resolution of research problems through data analysis. Furthermore, we advocate that the training of modern researchers should not be specific for a particular specialization, but rather their training should be multidisciplinary. Therefore, graduates of the doctoral program in Dentistry at UNG UNIVERSITY will be well-prepared for working as researchers, advisers, or scientific and teaching evaluators who have a consistent methodological and scientific foundation. Accordingly, students are advised to contemplate their training and research with a multidisciplinary and holistic approach within the context of modern society.
