Educação e atividades profissionais
Dr. Faveri é Periodontista (Mestrado) e especialista em Implantodontia, recebeu seu doutorado em Microbiologia pela Universidade de São Paulo e realizou seu pós-doutorado no Instituto Forsyth (Cambridge/EUA). Atualmente é professor associado do Programa de Pós-graduação em Odontologia, nas áreas de concentração de Periodontia, Implantodontia e ortodontia na Universidade de Guarulhos (Brasil).
Ele é membro da Academia internacional de periodontia (IAP) e do grupo de pesquisa periodontal do IADR, membro do Conselho Editorial do International Journal of Dental Hygiene e revisor de vários periódicos internacionais, tais como Journal of Dental Research, PlosOne, Brazilian Oral Research, Clinical Oral Implants Research, Journal of Periodontology, Journal of Clinical Periodontology e Journal of Periodontal Research.
Interesses de pesquisa
Seu principal campo de pesquisa é o diagnóstico e tratamento de diferentes infecções periodontais e periimplantares, com ênfase em Ensaios Clínicos Randomizados. Outras áreas de pesquisa incluem: cirurgias mucogengivais, modelos de biofilme in vitro e ex vivo e ecologia oral, incluindo a procura por novos patógenos. Além disso, pesquisas nas áreas de implantodontia que visam o tratamento regenerativo em torno dos dentes e implantes e fatores de crescimento.
Outros destaques
Dr. Faveri teve vários de seus projetos de pesquisas aprovados e fomentados pela Fundação de pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) e recebe bolsa de produtividade em pesquisa pelo CNPq desde 2010 em reconhecimento a suas atividades de pesquisa. Em 2014 uma de suas publicações (Perez-Chaparro et al. 2014) foi selecionada para o F1000Prime, e foi recomendada como sendo de especial significância na área periodontal pelo Dr. Robert Palmer, renomado pesquisador no NIDCR (MD, EUA). Além disso, Dr. Faveri tem a ISI h-index de 34 e Scopus h-index de 36.
